Advanced LBO modelling course – 2 days
This Excel-based course encompasses the strategies behind and modelling for leveraged/ management buyout (LBO/ MBO) transactions. Training participants will conduct a valuation of an LBO target. After applying multiples-based acquisition arithmetic, course delegates will calculate goodwill and forecast a pro-forma balance sheet, determining the most appropriate sources of debt and equity finance for their LBO.

Case work for the LBO modelling course
As part of LBO modelling work on the program, course participants work on a real buyout model, working through the model until they complete the cash flow and debt & interest schedules. Course delegates then calculate exit values and the IRR (internal rate of return) generated by private equity investors. Using their integrated model, delegates apply sensitivity analysis to derive the optimum financing structure, taking into account the financial constraints of each investor.

- Apply sound modelling techniques to build an LBO model and develop their LBO analysis
- Model pro-forma balance sheets and cashflows
- Assess the debt capacity of an LBO target

- Calculate IRR and exit values generated by private equity investors
- Establish refinancing needs and different exit strategies
- Understand the latest trends in the private equity sector, and pricing strategies.
